Leaves done...almost

This part of the painting has not been difficult as much as it was time consuming. I want to add a few more darks and highlights to the leaves without getting too detailed. I may try using casein for the greens and browns as it is more opaque than acrylics. It might be the way to get around having to build up so many layers.

Jason, Thanks. The leaves are really simplified and could have more done to them. I chose to keep that part of the painting loose so the figure would remain the primary subject. Given that painting landscapes is still new to me I did not want to bite off more than I could chew.~Gary

Gary,

Looking good! Let me know how the casein works out. I've thought about giving them a try myself.
