Alonzo Hayden study finished

The Hayden figure study is finally done. This is actually version number two. The most difficult part was the face. He has a fairly smooth face overall and the period photograph was very light. I have two or three more Gettysburg related portrait figure studies that are on my short list. This study is 8" x 10".

Well done, pard! I really like the background...It has a "mood" to it.

Along with the likeness to Hayden, the blue of the sack and trousers is spot on!

Looking forward to your future studies.

Jason, Thanks buddy. The fence was a freehanded afterthought. I do like that smokey/moody look to the background. Beats painting oodles of leaves! The trouser color was easy, it was the color of the sack that took a little work.
